Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched an investigation targeting organizations suspected of illegally registering noncitizens to vote.
These actions violate both state and federal laws, jeopardizing the integrity of our elections.
Paxton’s office, through the Election Integrity Unit, has already conducted undercover operations across major Texas cities to uncover the depth of this issue.

Investigators have identified numerous nonprofit organizations stationed near Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Driver License offices.
These groups are allegedly assisting individuals in registering to vote, even when they’re not citizens.
This raises serious concerns, as all citizens already have the opportunity to register to vote during their transactions at DPS.
The involvement of these nonprofits is suspicious, and Paxton’s office is committed to getting to the bottom of it.
“Texans are deeply troubled by the possibility that organizations purporting to assist with voter registration are illegally registering noncitizens to vote in our elections,” Paxton stated.
“If eligible citizens can legally register to vote when conducting their business at a DPS office, why would they need a second opportunity to register with a booth outside? My office is investigating every credible report we receive regarding potential criminal activity that could compromise the integrity of our elections.”
Paxton highlighted the broader implications of these unlawful activities, linking them to the Biden-Harris administration’s policies. “The Biden-Harris Administration has intentionally flooded our country with illegal aliens, and without proper safeguards, foreign nationals can illegally influence elections at the local, state, and national level.
It is a crime to vote—or to register to vote—if you are not a United States Citizen. Any wrongdoing will be punished to the fullest extent of the law,” Paxton emphasized.
The investigation underscores Texas’ unwavering commitment to safeguarding the sanctity of its elections. In a state where election integrity is non-negotiable, Texas law takes lying about citizenship during voter registration or assisting someone else in doing so very seriously.
Offenders can face stiff penalties, including up to 180 days in state jail and fines reaching $10,000. But the stakes are even higher for noncitizens who dare to vote or for those who help them—these serious offenses can lead to up to 20 years in prison and an additional $10,000 fine.
This tough stance reflects Texas’ resolve to protect its elections from any form of illegal influence, ensuring that the voice of every legitimate voter is heard.
Paxton’s office is leaving no stone unturned as it continues its undercover operations, ensuring that Texas elections remain secure from illegal activities.
