California Governor Gavin Newsom recently made headlines with remarks that shed light on the process behind Vice President Kamala Harris’s Democratic presidential nomination.

He added with a laugh, “We went through a very open process, a very inclusive process. It was bottom-up; I don’t know if you know that. That’s what I’ve been told to say.”
Newsom also joked about the speed at which the decision to nominate Harris was made.
He suggested that the Democratic Party held a quick 30-minute meeting immediately after Joe Biden officially withdrew from the race and endorsed Harris on July 21.
