Democrats seem to have settled on a strategy of relying on “vibes” rather than substance to bolster Kamala Harris’s image, especially since her nomination nearly a month ago.
Despite this, Harris still hasn’t given any interviews or posted her policies on her campaign website.
It’s as if the Democrats are banking on style over substance, hoping the enthusiasm around Harris will carry them through, as reported by Breitbart.
At the Democratic National Convention, a spectacle unfolded that left many scratching their heads. Julia Louis-Dreyfus, famous for her satirical portrayal of a vice president in Veep, teamed up with eight female Democrat governors for a musical performance that some are calling downright cringe-worthy.
This wasn’t just any performance—they chose to lip-sync to “Femininomenon,” a track by up-and-coming pop star Chappell Roan. Roan, who draws significant inspiration from drag culture, uses the song to chronicle her journey from being a lapsed Christian to fully embracing lesbianism.
This bold, and some might say controversial, choice of song was what the Democrats decided would best energize their base as they head into the crucial 2024 election.
It seems they were aiming for a memorable moment, but whether it resonated with voters or simply made them wince is up for debate.

The lineup of Democrat governors included Michigan’s Gretchen Whitmer, Massachusetts’ Maura Healey, Kansas’ Laura Kelly, New York’s Kathy Hochul, Oregon’s Tina Kotek, New Mexico’s Michelle Lujan Grisham, Maine’s Janet Mills, and Arizona’s Katie Hobbs.
This group, alongside Louis-Dreyfus, participated in a panel discussion where the Hollywood actress couldn’t stop gushing over the so-called “contagious” Harris-Walz campaign.
Louis-Dreyfus shared her emotional rollercoaster during the convention, saying, “I personally feel like I’ve been smiling for a month, my face actually hurts. And was anybody else weeping last night for two hours watching the [Second] Gentleman and the Obamas speak? Laughing, crying — I’m exhausted.”
She continued by expressing a sense of renewed hope, crediting the women on stage as evidence that Martin Luther King Jr.’s words about the moral universe bending toward justice were true, though she threw in a jab at Trump for trying to “bend it back the other way.”
Julia Louis-Dreyfus has been one of the Hollywood elites who pushed Joe Biden to step aside from the 2024 race, and she was quick to applaud him when he finally did.
It’s evident that the Democrats are heavily relying on their star power and emotional appeal to energize their base.
However, there’s growing skepticism about how long they can sustain this approach without tackling the real issues that are pressing the nation.
