In a recent interview with Roland Martin, Vice President Kamala Harris delivered a puzzling analogy involving stars and constellations while attempting to address former President Donald Trump’s comments about cities with large Black populations.

As reported by The Daily Mail, when questioned about Trump’s frequent criticisms of cities like Detroit, Chicago, and Washington, D.C., Harris responded with a convoluted metaphor about the stars.

“I talked with somebody once who said, ‘You know, if you just look at where the stars are in the sky, don’t look at ’em as just random things,’” Harris said.

She urged listeners to view stars as part of a larger constellation, implying that Trump’s focus on these cities reflected a deeper, racially motivated agenda. “That the cities that he picks on in terms of Black population or Black mayor or both. C’mon,” she added, implying that Trump’s remarks were far from coincidental.

Last week, Trump took to the stage at the Detroit Economic Club, suggesting the city is poorly managed. He warned a bipartisan group of executives that, under a Harris presidency, “the whole country will end up being like Detroit.” His remarks were not isolated; he has frequently criticized Milwaukee, labeling it a “horrible city,” and has made headlines for his strong condemnations of Chicago’s crime rates.

Harris’ star-crossed comment quickly drew scorn on social media, with users mocking her as part of an ongoing pattern of disjointed rhetoric.

One user quipped, “Kamala attempts discussing stars and constellations, ends up delivering the worst word salad in human history.”

Another remarked on her media strategy, comparing it to “a gambler trying to make back his losses by shouting at a slot machine.”

As the presidential election looms just three weeks away, Harris is ramping up her media presence, particularly with outlets targeting Black audiences.

She urged the Black community to stand firm against what she termed “misinformation” and “lies,” which she claims are tactics to suppress the Black vote.

“Don’t let anybody take you out the game,” she declared, stressing the importance of participation in the electoral process.

In the current political climate, Harris continues her campaign efforts, asserting her commitment to winning the Black vote in key states such as North Carolina. “I don’t feel that way, I’m going to go everywhere,” she insisted, dismissing claims that her support might be limited in rural areas. “But my people are there,” she concluded.

With the stakes high, both the Vice President and former President Trump are focusing their campaigns on urban centers, where the dynamics of race, politics, and power are more pronounced than ever.
