During a recent segment on War Room, Steve Bannon and Colonel Derek Harvey discussed the increasing threat posed by terrorism on U.S. soil, citing two significant attacks that are believed to be connected.
Bannon began by referencing a troubling incident involving a Green Beret and a Tesla vehicle outside President Trump’s hotel in Las Vegas, questioning the connection between this attack and a similar one in New Orleans.
“We had a Green Beret drive a Tesla in front of President Trump’s hotel and try to blow that up, right? This was a coordinated, this was just not random. Or you expect me to believe you hit that the thing in New Orleans is totally unrelated to the terrorist attack by a Green Beret,” Bannon stated.

He pointed to the incidents as evidence that these were coordinated efforts, not isolated attacks.
Bannon’s comments were in reference to a terrorist act in New Orleans where a staff sergeant and tech sergeant were believed to be involved, which he linked to the Green Beret attack in Las Vegas.
“After you have a staff sergeant, a tech sergeant, do it in New Orleans, and then you have a Green Beret do it in Las Vegas, Colonel Harvey,” Bannon continued, challenging the idea that these events were unrelated.
Colonel Derek Harvey, who was also part of the discussion, agreed with Bannon’s assessment and expanded on the issue, specifically criticizing the leadership within U.S. intelligence agencies, including the FBI.
Harvey argued that these agencies have failed to properly address the increasing threat of terrorism, pointing out that their focus has been misdirected.
“Well, Steve, good point, and I would agree with Ezra and you that you do not want to continue any of the leadership of the intelligence agencies or the FBI, because they have not been competent. Why would you continue people who have not been competent? I think that’s the most important thing,” Harvey stated.
“Continuity doesn’t matter if you’ve got people that are oppositional and also not competent, and their record shows this lack of competency.”
Harvey also critiqued the priorities of the FBI and intelligence community, stating that they have been focused on the wrong targets while overlooking growing threats from within.
“When we look at what the FBI and the IC have been doing, they’ve been focused on the wrong targets, and we’ve got sophisticated networks, coordinated by the Muslim Brotherhood, financed by Qatar and other outside entities, influencing mosque recruiting and placing Imams that are denying the legitimacy of the U.S. Constitution and indoctrinating people into hating the Constitution and hating America,” Harvey explained.
“And these are the same people that (James) Clapper and Director Wray and others have brought in, whether it’s from CAIR, Muslim Brotherhood, other organizations like the North American Islamic Trust or others that are anti-American at their core and they’re being used.”
The conversation turned to the broader threat posed by radical groups within the U.S. and how these organizations have managed to infiltrate intelligence agencies and influence policy. “We’ve got to focus on understanding the nature of this threat. If you don’t consider the Muslim Brotherhood to be a threat organization, and you call it a moderate, secular organization, and you put them in charge,” Harvey continued, referring to how such groups have gained influence within the government.
Bannon emphatically agreed with Harvey’s characterization of the Muslim Brotherhood, asserting, “Terrorist organization.” Harvey confirmed, “Right? It’s a terrorist organization.”

The discussion highlighted a growing concern among conservatives about the effectiveness of U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies in identifying and addressing domestic terrorist threats, particularly those connected to radical Islamic organizations.
Bannon and Harvey’s remarks underscore a call for reform in how these agencies handle national security threats, with an emphasis on focusing domestic counterintelligence efforts on organizations that are seen as adversaries to the United States and its constitutional values.
As the conversation continues to unfold in conservative circles, the implications of these issues are expected to play a significant role in shaping the national security debate in the upcoming years.
