In a recent report, conservative commentator Breanna Morello accused the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of diverting disaster relief funds to address the ongoing influx of illegal immigration.
Morello’s claims directly challenge FEMA’s official statements, where the agency has denied the allegations, calling them a “false rumor” on its website.

Morello, however, stands by her report, asserting that her sources for the claims are FEMA’s own press releases. “Throughout the week, I’ve been reporting how FEMA has been taking over a billion of our dollars that’s intended for disasters and shifting it towards the illegal invasion going on right now in our country,” Morello said.
She criticized FEMA’s denial of the report, stating, “Now FEMA is addressing my report on their website right now, calling it a rumor. Actually, they’re saying that this is false. No money is being diverted from the disaster response needs — interesting.”

Morello emphasized that her information comes directly from FEMA’s own website. “I never divulge who my sources are behind a story, but I’m gonna do it now, because I don’t want FEMA calling me a liar. So my source behind all my reporting is actually FEMA itself,” she explained.
She pointed out that FEMA’s press releases have repeatedly touted their efforts to provide funds to “innovators,” and noted that the agency is now seeking additional money from Congress.
In her report, Morello highlighted the contradictory statements from Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who recently warned of insufficient funds to get through the hurricane season. “According to their own DHS Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, who’s saying that they don’t have enough money to get them through hurricane season,” Morello said, further questioning FEMA’s denial of her claims.
FEMA, in its online response, assured the public that it has enough funds for immediate response and recovery efforts.
The agency also refuted claims of being financially strained, stating, “FEMA has enough money right now for immediate response and recovery needs.”
Morello concluded by suggesting that FEMA hopes the public will not verify the facts for themselves. “They’re hoping, they’re hoping that you’re just as dumb as they are, and that you’re not going to fact check them on these things,” she remarked.
This ongoing dispute between Morello and FEMA has sparked further debate about the allocation of federal resources and transparency in disaster relief funding.
