Kamala Harris is expected to give an interview this week, signaling a strategic shift as her campaign gears up for the post-Labor Day push, as reported by Breitbart.
Harris has been notably absent from the media spotlight, avoiding any unscripted press conferences or interviews on policy matters for the last 36 days since launching her presidential bid.
The last time Harris appeared on television for an interview was June 24, 2024, and it’s been eight months since she faced the press alone at a news conference, with her last solo appearance dating back to December 2, 2023.

There are a couple of reasons why Harris might be keeping her distance from the media, and they’re not exactly confidence-inspiring. First, there’s growing concern within her campaign that she might not be up to the task of discussing policy without stumbling into a critical blunder.
Harris has a well-documented history of what many politely call “word salads,” where her off-the-cuff remarks often meander into confusion, lacking the clarity and coherence one would expect from someone vying for the highest office. These verbal missteps not only raise eyebrows but also have the potential to seriously damage her likability with voters.
Second, the Harris campaign is in a tricky position.
Talking about solutions to pressing issues like crime, inflation, and border security could contradict the Biden-Harris administration’s claims of already having these issues under control. Yet, Harris needs to promote the administration’s accomplishments to solidify her record and justify her candidacy. This dilemma puts her campaign in a tough spot, where silence seems safer than risking exposure.
As for the upcoming interview, details remain scarce. Axios suggests that Harris will “sit for her first interview as a presidential candidate and intensify preparations for her September 10 debate against Trump.”
Meanwhile, Politico’s Playbook is speculating on who might get the nod to interview her. The big question is whether Harris will choose a friendly interviewer who’ll go easy on her or a respected legacy media figure who might push her harder, potentially to help erase the memory of her disastrous 2021 interview with Lester Holt. As Playbook puts it, “Place your bets. We should find out in days.”
Harris’s campaign isn’t stopping there. A bus tour in southern Georgia, a key battleground state where Trump currently leads, is also on the agenda. Political analysts point out that the election will likely come down to a handful of swing states: Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina.
