Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an Independent candidate for the 2024 presidential election, has officially withdrawn his name from the ballot in Arizona, according to a recent announcement.

The news was shared by Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).

“RFK Jr.’s campaign filed official paperwork with our office today withdrawing him from AZ’s 2024 election,” Fontes stated in his post. He also mentioned that the official filing would be made available on the Arizona government website on Friday, August 23, 2024.

Kennedy’s decision to withdraw from the Arizona ballot comes at a pivotal moment in the 2024 election cycle.

The announcement was made on the final day of the Democratic National Convention, during which Kamala Harris delivered the keynote address as the Democratic Party’s official presidential nominee.

The timing of Kennedy’s withdrawal has fueled ongoing rumors that he might exit the 2024 presidential race altogether and endorse former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee.

Kennedy had previously announced that he would address the nation on Friday, August 23, 2024, to provide an update on his political future.

This upcoming address has led to widespread speculation regarding his next steps in the race.

Former President Donald Trump weighed in on the possibility of a Kennedy endorsement during an appearance on “FOX & Friends” on Thursday. When asked about the potential endorsement, Trump expressed his admiration for Kennedy, stating, “He is a very good person. If he endorsed me, I would be honored by it. I would be very honored by it. He really has his heart in the right place. He is a respected person.”

Trump also commented on Kennedy’s treatment by the Democratic Party, saying, “But, overall, I thought the Democrats, he was a Democrat, I don’t know what he is right now. But he was a Democrat. They treated him very badly. I think he would have, he goes around saying he would have beaten Biden in the primary. I think there was a good chance.”

Speculation about Kennedy’s potential endorsement of Trump has been further fueled by comments from Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan. Shanahan recently spoke to Fox News, suggesting that the campaign was considering dropping out of the race and endorsing Trump.

On X, Shanahan reiterated her stance, stating that Democrats are “terrified” that the Kennedy campaign may endorse the former president.

Earlier in the week, Shanahan also appeared on “Fox News @ Night with Trace Gallagher,” where she discussed the possibility of Kennedy dropping out and endorsing Trump. “You know, it’s Bobby’s decision. I came into this supporting him wholeheartedly to win this election. And I have to say, there’s only one party that has obstructed fair, a fair election for us. And unfortunately, it was the Democratic Party. They’ve done everything they can, including creating PACs to prevent us from being able to have ballot access,” Shanahan said.
