Political commentator Tim Pool recently delivered a fiery critique of the justice system, focusing on the prolonged detentions and harsh sentences imposed on January 6 defendants.

In a heated exchange with journalist Ryan Beasley during an episode of Timcast IRL, Pool contrasted these cases with the lack of accountability for rioters during the violent protests of 2020, often referred to by the left as the “Summer of Love.”

Pool’s exchange began with a pointed rebuke of Beasley’s understanding of January 6 cases. “You have no right. No, no, no. Stop, stop. You don’t know anything about these January 6 cases,” Pool said. “You don’t know that a man is in Brooklyn right now for three years without charge or trial.”

Highlighting specific cases, Pool condemned the prolonged detention of one individual held without charges for three years.

He criticized Beasley’s apparent indifference, stating, “For you to sit there and say it is good that he remains locked up is fascism.”

Pool added that while those who attacked police officers should face justice, excessive detentions violate principles of fairness and justice.

Turning to the riots of 2020, Pool pointed to the destruction and violence that occurred, including attacks on federal buildings and police officers. “We have seen people on the far left, notably when they were firebombing sh*t all across Minnesota,” he said.

“Thirty-three people murdered and how many criminal charges we get for this? When they firebombed a police station and forced the police to evacuate? On May 29th, 2020, when thousands of far leftists firebombed the White House grounds and set fire to St. John’s Church and injured 100 police officers. How many f****** people went to prison for three years?”

Pool also scrutinized the case of Enrique Tarrio, the former chairman of the Proud Boys, who was sentenced to 22 years for seditious conspiracy despite not being present at the Capitol on January 6.

Prosecutors based Tarrio’s conviction on the controversial theory of “implicit conspiracy,” which defense attorneys compared to telepathy. During closing arguments, DOJ prosecutor Connor Mulroe argued, “A conspiracy can be unspoken, implicit. A wink and a nod.”

Pool expressed outrage over Tarrio’s sentence, stating, “You are saying that man, who wasn’t even in D.C. on January 6th…should be in prison for 20 years because you’re a fascist. You don’t care what the facts are.” He criticized Beasley’s reliance on broad generalizations, demanding, “Give me some f**king data. Stop squinting at me and saying, ‘the prosecutors did a thing.’”

Expanding on his critique, Pool highlighted other January 6 cases, including Brandon Straka, founder of the WalkAway campaign, and Owen Shroyer of Infowars.

Straka received prison time despite not entering the Capitol, while Shroyer was sentenced for making incendiary remarks during a permitted rally.

Pool questioned the fairness of these prosecutions, arguing that some sentences were based more on political motivations than actual crimes.

Pool also addressed the left’s tribalist mentality, accusing liberals of blindly accepting narratives from the corporate media and the government. “They don’t know the facts. They don’t care about the facts,” Pool said.

“They view morality as a blanket government stroke of the pen, and every person, regardless of their crime, should be in prison for decades.”

President-elect Donald Trump has indicated his intent to pardon many January 6 defendants upon taking office.

Trump has stated that he will begin the pardon process “within minutes” of his inauguration next month.
