The 37-year-old was discovered inside the Tesla Cybertruck he drove to the scene, which had exploded in a fiery blast.
Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill briefed reporters, revealing that Livelsberger’s body was discovered with a “self-inflicted gunshot wound” to the head.
Authorities also found a Desert Eagle .50 caliber semi-automatic handgun at his feet, along with other semi-automatic weapons that were charred beyond recognition.
Despite the extensive damage to his body, police were able to identify Livelsberger through several items recovered from the vehicle.
His Military ID, passport, phone, and smartwatch were found inside the burnt vehicle, helping confirm his identity. Additionally, two distinct tattoos on the charred remains matched known tattoos of Livelsberger.
The cause of Livelsberger’s death, a self-inflicted gunshot wound, remains a significant piece of the ongoing investigation.
While the exact weapon used remains unclear, the police have identified the Desert Eagle handgun found in the vehicle as a key piece of evidence.

The FBI is now involved in the investigation, and Special Agent Spencer Evans stated that the agency would follow up on all tips related to Livelsberger’s background.
“It’s not lost on us that it happened in front of the Trump building and a Tesla vehicle was used,” Evans said, noting the possibility that the attack could have been politically motivated given the location and the vehicle involved.
Livelsberger’s route to Las Vegas is under further scrutiny.
Law enforcement tracked his movements through Tesla charging stations, which recorded him traveling south and then west through at least eight recharging hubs along the way from Colorado Springs to Las Vegas.
Surveillance footage showed him alone at each station, with no one else seen entering or exiting the vehicle.
The Cybertruck, which was rented by Livelsberger through the Turo app, was also found to be in his possession alone, confirming that he acted without any apparent assistance.
While the police investigation continues, McMahill stated that Livelsberger did not have a criminal record in Las Vegas, though they are looking into a possible incident from years ago involving the suspect.
As of now, law enforcement does not believe Livelsberger had any help executing the explosion.
The investigation into the motive of the attack remains ongoing.
Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of political motivations due to the involvement of Trump’s Las Vegas hotel and the Tesla vehicle, both of which have connections to figures in the conservative political sphere.
The FBI is continuing its pursuit of leads and examining the details of Livelsberger’s background to determine any further connections that may explain his actions.
Authorities are also keeping an open mind as they search for any potential connections between the explosion and broader security concerns, including the possibility of other individuals involved, although current evidence points to Livelsberger acting alone.
